Porsche announced a voluntary recall of its 2014-2015 911, Boxster and Cayman sports cars due to a faulty hood latch.

Which Porsche models are affected by the recall?

2014-2015 Porsche 911, Boxster and Cayman sports cars. About 1,400 models in the United States.

What causes the faulty hood latch?

During internal quality inspection, it was found that the front hood may unintentionally open due to a lock bracket malfunction, which does not meet Porsche’s quality standards.

Are there any known accidents attributed to the defect?

At this time, there are no accidents or personal injuries due to the related problem.

What do I do if my car is one of those affected?

Porsche will be notifying owners of affected vehicle within 60 days. The lock bracket will be replaced on the front hood, free of charge.
